from the very beginning I knew right away,

Grandpas have a very special love

that is in their hearts to stay.

Your firm yet gentle touch

is as loving as it can be.

The tears in your eyes

tell me how proud you are of me.

I want you to be a part of my life

as you watch me grow.

Tell me stories and teach me things

only grandparents know.

We will be best buddies,

then one day you will realize,

I'm all grown up and my hands are big,
